  • Interstate Battery System of Bloomington
John Searcy started his battery business out of the back of his truck in spring 1950. He opened an official storefront in 1952, naming it Interstate Battery System after the new network of interstate highways that was under construction across the country. Over the next 60 years, his company expanded to all 50 states, as well as Australia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Guyana, Panama, and the Dominican Republic. Each Interstate All Battery Center location—as well as the company's online database—houses an extensive selection of batteries for cars, electronics, household items, and computers. They also collect power sources for security systems, medical equipment, and other niche devices. Many of their batteries come with a 45-day satisfaction warranty, though it doesn’t cover batteries stolen by siblings to power their Game Boys.

  • Circle K - Evansville
So established is Circle K that even brand-new vehicles recognize what its red-and-white logo stands for?fuel, snacks, and everything else a car might need to keep powering down the road with its driver. Circle K's story starts back in 1951, when Fred Hervey bought three Kay's Food Stores in El Paso, Texas. Under his guidance, these three little shops grew into the more than 3,000 convenience stores that crouch on our nation's street corners today. After rolling up to a Circle K, drivers can pump their faithful roadsters full of high-octane fuel and send them skipping through a car wash to experience the cleansing touch of Blue Coral Beyond Green and Rain-X products. Then it's time to step inside the air-conditioned shop for a peek at the provisions. Rows of sodas hibernate behind glass doors, and snacks, candy, and their ATM guardians stand boldly out in the open. Some Circle Ks also offer theTake Away Fresh Caf?, which presents an appetizing lineup of healthy road fare including sandwiches, fruit cups, and fresh-cut vegetables. Drivers can gear up for a long drive with premium coffees or enjoy a cold Polar Pop, whose specially formulated cup keeps drinks colder thanks to the family of tiny snowmen trapped in its foam walls.

Lawrence novel. For silken and scented kneads, lotions and oils sprinkle shoulders and backsides, as do sensual strokes and maneuvers gleaned from one of several instructional books. Grab bags for him, her, and couples award patrons with a surprise assemblage of products from the boutique, which can range from lotion samples to life-size chocolate replicas of famous bridges. A welcoming, open-minded staff happily helps guests explore a trove of body-safe adult toys, such as the waterproof and flexible We Vibe 3, which causes vibrations as good as those spawned from listening to the Beach Boys during an earthquake.

  • Chateau Thomas Winery
What does 31 years of hard work and dedication get you? In the case of Dr. Charles Thomas, founder of Chateau Thomas Winery, the answer to that question is lots and lots of wine: 15,000 cases of wine each year to be exact, accounting for some 50 varietals. It wasn't easy to reach that impressive statistic. Before opening the winery in 1984, the doctor studied the finest French wines he could track down, took formal winemaking and tasting classes, and studied with some of Napa Valley's renowned winemakers. Today, the Thomas team stays committed to exceptional standards. The winemakers source only old world grapes grown in California, Oregon, and Washington. They produce 50 different varietal wines from those grapes such as merlot, sauvignon blanc, and zinfandel. They created Slender wines, low-calorie varietals made with natural Zerose sweeter rather than melted candy bars.
