Exercise is challenging. How do you keep clients motivated and engaged?
Music, attitude, and a variety of workouts keep our clients inspired and coming back for more. We include a meal plan with every training program, as well as weekly body-fat analysis to assess progress.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Personal development is our passion! We are all working toward a goal and the process of achieving those goals inevitably means we grow as people! We overcome obstacles, celebrate successes, and work every day to become better than the day before.
What do you love most about your job?
The relationships we have with our clients! This is the true foundation of our work, and it is also the most rewarding part of what we do. We truly care and are invested in every client who walks through the door. Your journey is our journey as well!
When guests enter Empower Health and Diesel Fitness, they're likely to notice the large mural at the back of the fitness studio. Orange and yellow sunbeams provide the backdrop for a silhouetted figure, whose arms reach out in a pose of victory. At the business' heart and perfectly toned pectorals are co-owners and certified trainers Bobby Andrade and DeSean Harrell. Besides serving as a massage therapist, Andrade has trained thoroughly in mixed martial arts and worked with both amateur and professional MMA athletes. Harrell, who played football at Washington State University, draws on his vast knowledge of kinesiology when working with participants in football, track, and other sports.
Though thousands of miles from Thailand, Leading Edge Kickboxing & Martial Arts imports the country’s national sport, Muay Thai kickboxing, fresh daily. The fighting style, built on a foundation of kicking, punching, and elbow and knee strikes, forms the core of their fitness programs, engineered by head instructor John Stabb. Enamored of all arts martial, the instructors also teach Jiu-Jitsu’s unarmed combat techniques, MMA, and Jeet Kune Do’s self-defense method that employs weaponry, grappling, and strategically scattering banana peels to throw your opponent off balance.
