The imposing tree lines on either side of the par 5 first hole at Cross Creek Golf Club frame the ideal shot right off the teebox, like two sides of a leafy goalpost. The crossbar, then, is the medium-size pond just past the tees—the first of 12 encounters with water players will have over the duration of the round. As with so many situations found throughout the course, the shot demands steely nerves, much like asking for chocolate syrup on a hotdog. Even so, the opening gambit can bode well for the rest of the round—there are only two par 5s on the course, making a solid opening drive a player's best shot at securing a solid score.
Course at a Glance:
18-hole, par 70 course
Total length of 6,281 yards from the back tees
Four sets of tees per hole

"You're up." At more than 200 AMF Bowling locations across the U.S., that message is passed between friends as they pick up a ball, step up to the line, and prepare to have a great time. Now synonymous with bowling, AMF was founded in 1901 as American Machine and Foundry. It wasn't until 1946, however, that the company made a splash in bowling, introducing the automated pin spotter to the public.
Today, AMF's nationwide network of bowling centers is a source of year-round entertainment for people of all ages. AMF centers offer a modern approach to traditional bowling—with pro-quality lanes, innovative scoring systems, all-star menus, and the ability to share laneside experiences on social media. When cravings strike, the game still goes on thanks to AMF’s laneside food and beverage service.

A combination of jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, ballet, tap, and gymnastics classes contribute to versatile dancers, which is why Making Moves Dance Collective is a good place to start learning the craft. Owners Amber Comer and Kellie Sellers sought to open a studio where competitive dancers would find proper training. Not all of their classes cater to aspiring professionals, though; they also offer a street-jazz class for adults that focuses solely on toning and conditioning.
Alison Miller, a passionate dancer with a master's degree in performing arts, founded The Ballet Academy in 1981. Ever since, she and her team have led children, teens, and adults through classical-ballet routines based on the teachings at the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet and the Royal Academy. Students can also opt for Stretch and Tone classes to lengthen the muscles.
