Every single minute inside the tunnel at SkyVenture Arizona Indoor Skydiving is like a free fall from 13,000 feet—only you aren't going anywhere. As a chasm below the floor generates massive amounts of wind, the air flows up through your hair and arms at speeds up to 150 miles per hour, giving your body lift and allowing you to soar in place.
However, it doesn't take long for even first-timers to defy gravity. SkyVenture Arizona Indoor Skydiving's certified instructors take each newbie through a brief training, then take them through the tunnel's doors. Of course, these experts are right there to guide novices through each part of the flight and make sure they haven't spontaneously evolved any feathers.
The Toro Loco Challenge fuses the arts of mud running, obstacle navigation, and adventure into twin courses––one competitive and one recreational. On the Raging Bull path, challengers hurtle through muddy terrain while confronting obstacles such as ziplines and spinning balance beams. On the 5K Leisurely Longhorn Course, dogs and children run along with racers over ropes and puddles. Music fills the air at the finish line, and prizes are awarded to the boldest costumes, the most spirited teams, and the most nimble pups. Proceeds from the Toro Loco Challenge will benefit the Petfinder Foundation, and adoptable dogs will be on hand throughout the event.

Lush fairways, a trio of lakes, and more than 1,500 mature trees comprise the Golf Course at Francisco Grande Hotel and Golf Resort. It's all part of the vision of renowned architect Ralph Plummer, a man known for his uncanny ability to shape greens and bunkers by the eye instead of first sketching them on a Magna Doodle. Visitors reap the benefits of Plummer's picturesque design
as they work their way across the par 72 course, especially at the signature third hole, where they step up to a two-tiered elevated tee. Beautiful as this course is, though, it's not architect Plummer's only masterwork: his portfolio also includes Shady Oaks Country Club, the home course of golf icon Ben Hogan.
