  • Pacific Northwest Reptile & Exotic Animal Show
For a couple of days, the Washington County Fairgrounds transforms into a jungle. Large cats. Venomous snakes. Reptiles of all types. Those and other animals sprawl across the Pacific Northwest Reptile & Exotic Animal Show, where over 70 vendors display exotic creatures and related merchandise. In addition to the animals and products on sale, the show doubles as an educational attraction. Interactive reptile and mammal displays teach visitors about new creatures, while an exotic animal petting zoo lets visitors discover which animals secretly know how to shake hands.

  • Best of Oregon Food & Wine Festival
Established in 2009, the Best of Oregon Food & Wine Festival supports the Beaver State’s thriving culinary industry every year with a lineup of local restaurateurs and vintners. • McKay Creek Golf Course
The nine-hole golf course zigzags across former farmland and crosses McKay Creek twice, showcasing bucolic scenery and water hazards that come into play on numerous holes. Split evenly into par 3s, 4s, and 5s, the par 36 course stretches 2,761 yards and presents a gauntlet of greenside bunkers and hoarding tree boughs hoping to add golf balls to their collections of eggs. Players take shots in one of 22 covered, heated stalls, and can continue bombardment under the cover of night thanks to the overhead lights that stay illuminated until 9 p.m. Course at a Glance: * 9-hole, par 36 course * Total length of 2,761 yards from the back tees * Course rating of 66 from the back tees * Course slope of 111 from the back tees * Two sets of tees per hole

  • Four Seasons Bowling Center
In the more than 30 years he’s spent at the helm of Four Seasons Bowling Center, George Mareina has learned that there’s only one thing people like better than bowling: baby back ribs. The alley’s Sports Look Restaurant and Sports Bar has been sizzling up the saucy eats since its addition in 1999, and the full-service restaurant is just one of many things that Mareina has added since taking over in 1978. Automatic scoring and pinsetters help keep the fun rolling by eliminating downtime between frames, and the nonsmoking environment makes it an appropriate hangout for bowlers of all ages. Die-hard bowlers in need of new gear can also stop by the pro shop to browse accessories such as balls, bags, shoes, and corks with which to plug those pesky bowling-ball holes.
