For more than a decade, Abrakadoodle?a national mobile art-education program that has earned praise from Nickelodeon and other kid-centric organizations?continues to host children's art classes, camps, and parties that help young ones along their learning paths. Bringing art education wherever it?s needed, Abrakadoodle?s team of instructors transforms local spaces, such as community centers, into informative classrooms where students aged 20 months?12 years learn to expand their creativity and imagination. Each age-appropriate class focuses not only on teaching a range of techniques such as painting, foil embossing, and mosaics but is also is designed to help kids build confidence and sharpen academic skills. With those goals in mind, the program determines each child's progress not by what the child creates but rather by what they've learned, which the team calls Process Art.
When not actively inspiring youngsters during art classes, Abrakadoodle?s team offers camps that engage young minds with educational field trips and musical games. The program?s art parties also offer an artistic way to celebrate birthdays, kindergarten graduations, and baby's first time saying the alphabet in pig Latin.
The staff members at Sylvan Learning's numerous study facilities understand that each child learns differently. Therefore, they don?t try to implement a uniform tutoring system; instead, they design custom lesson programs based on the results of standardized testing, diagnostic tools, and one-on-one interviews.
Tutors work with students from kindergarten through grade 12, illuminating topics ranging from basic reading and writing to remembering complex algebraic formulas without having them tattooed on your chest. Many of Sylvan?s instructors work in local schools, so they are intimately familiar with common curricula and understand how to gear lessons toward optimal results. After-school and summer classes can ready high-schoolers for the rigors of the ACT or the SAT, or they can help students to wow college-admissions officers with their superior essay-writing skills.
In 1977, career educators Eileen and Raymond Huntington opened the first Huntington Learning Center in Oradell, New Jersey. Their mission to give every child the best education possible is still going strong. They use an individualized approach to education, adjusting instructional tactics according to each student?s particular needs.
Due to their success in helping K?12 students prepare for exams and improve grades and study skills, there are currently 260 Huntington franchises open nationwide.
The certified Huntington tutoring staff utilizes testing and rubrics for assessing each child?s skills, academic needs and potential for growth. Tutors note student response to different testing and academic situations to craft a methodology sensitive to each child?s learning style. Teachers adhere to the company?s code of ethics that stresses professionalism and confidentiality, encouraging students to improve grades honestly through dedicated study rather than shortcuts.

Sensei Anthony Diaz and the staff at Ridgewood Martial Arts have been teaching kids, teens, and adults how to defend themselves since 1997, the year danger was invented. Although their specialty is shotokan kickboxing, they also offer boxing and general martial-arts lessons. Each lesson is a workout in itself, but for an exclusively fitness-minded session the team also schedules calorie-scorching circuit-training classes.

What?s your favorite part of your job?
The best part about our job is when the client gets the moment of what we call "ah-ha"?everything we are teaching them comes together in the student's mind and they are able to show us what they can do.
That's where the fun really starts.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
