The ability to swim allowed humanity to explore the seas, discover pearls inside oysters, and evolve arms devoid of inflatable muscles. Wave Aquatics Centers’ instructors understand the importance of such a skill, aiming to impart it within children and adults alike across the community. Working as a nonprofit organization fueled by the common purpose of providing students of all ages with a slew of programs and lessons, the staffers share their wisdom in Juanita and Redmond High School pools. They train their charges in competitive swimming, maintaining three teams, including a year-round Masters-level team taught by professional coaches and reformed mermaids.
At Swing Doctors, PGA-certified instructors use state-of-the-art video-analysis software to improve each golfer’s swing mechanics and overall skill set. A camera captures swings and divides them into freeze frames to pinpoint weaknesses in posture, technique, and color coordination of clothing.
Swing Doctors is also home to more than 100 virtual golf courses. Links including Firestone and Pinehurst unfurl on 10'x13' screens, simulating surfaces such as fairway, green, and sand bunker.
Doug Landreth and David Volkamer each spent 25 years as professional photographers and visual artists., As David designed ads for Fortune 500 companies, Doug filled magazines with his stunning images. Just because they experienced success doesn’t mean they became content, though—as the technology in their fields advanced, so too did their techniques. Today, this duo of ever-evolving shutterbugs share their hard-won lessons in tutorials, seminars, and classes through their joint venture, Photomorphis. Together, they help students master composition and depth of field, giving them the tools to make even iPhone shots look stellar. They also explain how to enhance such photos with the use of textures and Photoshop techniques, such as creating subtle warmth images or giving your baby laser eyes.
Formed by a group of pharmacists, passRXnow offers pharmaceutical students the resources they need to pass two crucial exams. Its online practice exams for the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE) and North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) are designed, reviewed, and updated by pharmacy professors and practicing pharmacists, including PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents. Students can take the tests multiple times with different questions selected based on their previous answers and the day of the week indicated by their pill organizer. The passRXnow platform makes it easy to review answers and discuss the questions online with other students and pharmacists.
The staff members at Sylvan Learning Center's numerous study facilities understand that each child learns differently. Therefore, they don't try to implement a uniform tutoring system; instead, they design custom lesson programs based on the results of standardized testing, diagnostic tools, and one-on-one interviews.
Tutors work with students from kindergarten through grade 12, illuminating topics ranging from basic reading and writing to remembering complex algebraic formulas without having them tattooed on your chest. Many of Sylvan's instructors work in local schools, so they are intimately familiar with common curricula and understand how to gear lessons toward optimal results.
