  • Islands Surf Camp
Professional, award-winning surfers and lifeguards comprise the team of instructors that equips students with gear and sends them paddling into the ocean. To ensure safety and capitalize on ideal waves, the seasoned athletes check ocean conditions and Poseidon's mood before taking groups or individuals out to sea. As beginners become proficient at catching waves, the instructors level up their curriculum and teach intermediate or advanced feats. Islands Surf Camp stays active in its community by donating time and gear to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, SURF, and Echo Malibu.

  • The Rosenthal Malibu Estate
Malibu is famed for its stunning beaches, but walk 4 miles inland and you'll find another coastal treasure?the wines of The Rosenthal Malibu Estate. In 1987, George Rosenthal began the process of planting the estate's first vines, which now spread across 250 acres of unique microclimate perfectly suited for grape growing. Sunny during the day and cool and breezy at night, the land yields red and white varietals, including more than 30 gold-medal award-winning varieties of chardonnay, viognier, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, petit verdot, and cabernet franc. Winemaker Christian Roguenant oversees the entire process, from aging the wines in French oak barrels to tickling the grapes until their juice falls out. Visitors to the Tasting Room, located on the scenic Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu just a few miles north of Santa Monica, can relax and enjoy sunny ocean views while sipping their favorite Rosenthal or Surfrider wine. Guests are invited to bring their own picnic or purchase a snack from the small selection of cheese and crackers.

  • Connemara Ranch
Connemara Ranch, featured by the New York Times, is perched amid breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the Malibu countryside, beckoning visitors to its pristine grounds for both the expected—trail rides and lessons—and the unexpected—equine-therapy sessions. Founder Talley Hutcherson taps into her extensive background in equine therapy to lead groups and individuals through programs that address trauma, addictions, and self-esteem as the clients learn about riding and bond with their horses. Talley harnesses the gentle nature of horses to build confidence and communication skills in her students, encouraging participants to commune with their equine companions through learned horsemanship techniques. Beyond connecting with her community, her ranch has been graced by the likes of celebrities including Brad Pitt, Billy Crystal, Cindy Crawford, and Mr. Ed’s great-great-grandson.
