  • San Carlos Flight Center
The team of FAA-certified pilots at San Carlos Flight Center opens up the world of aviation to aspiring pilots and sightseers. During comprehensive flight instruction, the team teaches pupils the skills needed to operate flight controls, land, take off, and keep seagulls from mistaking the plane as their king. Training sessions include everything from private pilot certification to specialty and advanced training. High-tech simulators such as the Xwind help burgeoning aerialists get their bearings before soaring the skies in a Cessna suited for training. To share bird's-eye vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, coastal cliffs, and the city of San Francisco huddled up against the blue Bay, the crew also offers aerial tours.

  • Flying Dolphins
On Flying Dolphins' tours, dolphins don't fly?participants do. They skim the waves or soar high above California on an amphibious flying trike, helmed by an FAA-certified pilot. From their bird's-eye view, riders often catch glimpses of aquatic life, from dolphins and sea lions to elusive whales. Riders can fly over the coast or fly over Lake Tahoe.

  • Crooks Tour of San Francisco
On A Crooks Tour of San Francisco, a pair of guides leads guests through the dark and stormy chapters of the city's history, revealing 15 tales of murder, deceit, and lawlessness. Developed by crime historian Paul Drexler and retired deputy police chief Kevin Mullen, this 90-minute walking tour begins inside the Ferry Building Marketplace, before tourists are led outdoors to hear accounts of Barbary Coast, where victims were reportedly drugged, kidnapped, and forced to work at sea. They'll also learn about Confederate piracy in the San Francisco Bay during the Civil War and the mysterious disappearance of one of the city's police chiefs. Then, after one mile of touring, hearts will be thumping and goose flesh will be pimpling without the use of copyrighted Law & Order doink doinks.

Established: 2010 Reservations/Appointments: Required Staff Size: 25?50 people Average Duration of Services: 4+ hours Brands Used: Vegas On A Budget Club Crawl, Union Square Club Crawl Pro Tip: Makes sure everyone has a valid state issues ID or Passport Most Popular Attraction/Offering: 2 for 1/discounted drinks throughout the night Recommended Age Group: Adults Q&A with Brandon Busche, Owner/Managing Partner As the old adage says, "Stuff happens." What training do you and your staff have to stay ahead of the unexpected? Each VIP Host is trained to deal with any issues that may occur on the tour from drunk guests to venues being over crowded when we arrive. They take the initiative to solve these issues on the spot to make the tour most enjoyable. What is the experience customers can expect, and how do you make it special? If the guests are celebrating an event being a birthday, bachelor/bachelorette party, corporate function, convention etc, our hosts inform the club to give them special shoutouts from the DJ. We also cater to those guests to ensure they and their group are extremely happy. Have you ever been a patron of your own business? If so, what was the most enjoyable part? Yes of course. Myself as well as all employees go on "dry runs" to ensure we enjoy the tours so our guests will too. The discounted drinks throughout the night saves over $200 a night. Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover? We have unlimited tickets available each night so the more the merrier.

  • Magowan's Infinite Mirror Maze
At first glance, Magowan's Infinite Mirror Maze looks more funky than befuddling. The black lights that illuminate its columns and archways cycle through neon colors, and ?80s dance music thumps through its various turns. The wonderland-like ambiance prompted SF Weekly to list the maze as "possibly the most psychedelic place one can legally reach within the city limits" in its list of Five Places We Wish Bands Could Play in SF. Don't let the far-out vibes fool you, though. Even Charles Magowan, the maze's creator, admits to getting lost in its passageways during an ABC 7 feature. Charles constructed the maze to cover 2,000 square feet, aligning 77 mirrors in counterintuitive corners, dead-ends, twists, and halls. His ultimate goal was to build a nostalgic labyrinth that both kids and adults could explore. One ticket grants unlimited admission to the maze throughout the day, encouraging repeat visitors to memorize different escape routes and convince their reflection to go to work tomorrow instead of them.
