  • Red Frog Events
Color Me Rad is back and better than ever with its 2015 tour, staging 5K races that transform runners into mobile rainbows by launching cheerful barrages of colored cornstarch and a whole new GEL color. Each color station along the racetrack flings a new pigment at passersby, who wear white shirts to enhance the chromatic onslaught's costuming effects. Brilliant neon-blue, green, purple, and yellow clouds dapple participants along the way, and the race concludes with a prismatic finish-line finale as sprinters chuck colors at each other in celebration. The race's noncompetitive credo shifts the emphasis from speed to silliness, and a portion of its proceeds go to local charities. Upon registration, each runner collects a Color Me Rad T-shirt and a pair of RAD knee-high socks, sponsor gifts, and a race bib. Also, new for 2015, all runners will receive access to free professional digital photo downloads. Though they don't receive a gift packet, runners who are 7 years old and younger can run for free.

  • Where You Want to Be Tours
Launched as a walking-tour company in 2003, Where You Want to Be Tours features a variety of custom adventures designed to show off the beauty of San Diego to locals and tourists. Most adventures last more than two hours, so tourists have plenty of time to stop and sightsee at spots such as Balboa Park and the shores of La Jolla. Today, the company has formed a set of all new clues and hidden gems and has also expanded its offerings with bike tours of locations such as Pacific Beach and Mission Bay and scavenger hunt adventures, which present a hands-on approach to urban exploration, turning tour routes into racecourses and throwing in physical challenges, including Frisbee-throwing contests.
