  • Arthur Murray Dance Studio Orlando
Teaching hips to swivel to new circumferences, dance instructors impart their masterful moves unto students in the respected tradition Arthur Murray schools have upheld since 1912. Students can bring a partner to their lessons or fly solo and dance with the instructor. Protégés may find their new moves applicable in a number of settings, such as when prepping for a wedding dance or when blending into an airport crowd that breaks out in the cha-cha. Embodying the three-count time of a stately waltz brings partners in close, and rumba moves or swing steps add vibrancy and playfulness to a repertoire. The Orlando studio provides a warm, aesthetically sound environment for engaging in private and group dance lessons. The full class schedule is well suited to teaching feet to slice and dice a rug until it is no longer recognizable.

  • Cup O' Pottery
Eight potters' wheels whirl next to shelves stacked with bisque pieces, worktables spotted with glaze, and walls hung with abstract art. The eclecticism of the space is one of owner and artist Tracy Wilmes's favorite things about his pottery studio, Cup O' Pottery—that, and the opportunity to inspire his students by leaping on a chair in his typical ebullient, and sometimes downright zany, teaching style. As a former high school art teacher, he loves educating students of any age, leading both family-oriented studio classes and open pottery paint and design sessions. The studio also includes a small retail area, where Tracy sells his own pottery and hands out mock detentions to disobedient clay.:

  • Tantalizing Tastes & Tours
Jerry and Jasmine Bacon knew the obvious: to many people, Orlando was known solely for its theme parks. Where did that leave the city's vibrant food scene? That was something even Orlando locals couldn't answer. As self-proclaimed foodies, the husband-and-wife team struck out into the unknown in 2010, coordinating food and drink tours that showcased the best of what their city had to offer. They called their business Tantalizing Tastes & Tours; today, the company is still thriving, having expanded to three different tours around the city. Guests explore up to five different restaurants during food tours, or combine eats with expertly poured pints during pub-and-grub tours. Tour-takers meet up at a designated spot before climbing onto a comfortable 15-passenger bus, which whisks them from restaurant to restaurant, showing off Orlando's other enviable sights in-between bites.

  • Berto Ortega Painting Lessons
Berto Ortega can't even remember the first time he picked up a pencil or paintbrush. By age 8, he was already a portraitist's apprentice while his peers were still working in the medium of macaroni and glitter. When he got older, Ortega bolstered his natural talents with a formal education at the Swain School of Design and Philadelphia's Studio Incamminati. Today, he teaches oil-and-acrylic techniques to painters of all experience levels. Ortega's own portfolio features portraits and landscapes rendered in a variety of styles: impressionist-inspired lilies, shadowy charcoals, and realist portraits in glowing hues.
