By now, we all know the basics of how to use Pinterest for marketing: create boards that represent your business and your customers’ interests, use keywords when naming images, follow others, respond to comments, etc.

Well, with Pinterest growing so quickly (70 million + users), there are always new tips and tricks to ensure your Pinterest marketing is in top form. Social Media Examiner, one of my favorite sources of in-depth information, recently published an article that included new ideas and best practices. Here are the top takeaways:

Add the “on hover Pin It” button

If you have an image-heavy website, you’ll want to download this feature. The button, which you can download and learn how to install here, lets users pin images from your website. (It only appears when someone mouses over an image on your website.)

Use rich pins

Rich pins let you add more specific information to an image. For example, a product pin includes real-time pricing, availability and where to buy. If you’re not super technical, ask your website developer with help.

Be aware of what inspires the most pins

Long, skinny images get a lot of pins, mostly because you need to click on them to see the full image. Likewise, infographics get a lot of pins and likes. Before sharing one, though, think about whether it’s relevant to your audience or not.

Create quote boards

I found this suggestion really clever. Create quote boards to share the best speaker comments and advice from a recent event, testiomonials you get from customers, or your company’s values. (Use a tool like Quozio to turn quotes into images.)

Post different types of content

Did you know that you can post more than just images on Pinterest? (Don’t worry, I didn’t either.) You can also post videos from YouTube, slideshows from SlideShare, and audio or podcasts.
