How do I log in to my merchant center account?

I know my login credentials:

  • Navigate to your Merchant Center
  • Enter your current username and password or the username and password created after receiving the email with the subject line 'Log In to Your Merchant Center'

Tip: If your Groupon Customer account and Merchant account use the email address, the username and password will be the same

I don't know my login credentials:

  • Click 'Forgot password?' on merchant center login page
  • Enter your email address: confirm that you are using the email address registered as the primary contact for your Merchant Center account.
  • Await an email with a link that will allow you to reset your password. If you don’t receive the email, make sure to:
    • Check your spam folder
    • Check the correct inbox for the email address associated with your Merchant Center account.
  • Navigate back to your Merchant Center
  • Enter new password: ensure that the new password has not been used previously for the account.

Tip: If your Groupon Customer account and Merchant account use the email address, the username and password will be the same

If you are still having trouble logging into your Merchant Center, please know:

What is 2-Factor Authentication and how do I enable it?

In an era where data breaches and cyber threats are on the rise, protecting your corporate accounts and sensitive information has become a paramount concern. This is where 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) comes into play. By adding an extra layer of security, 2FA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your accounts, ensuring your Merchant information remains safe and confidential.

When 2FA is enabled on your Groupon Merchant account, you create an additional barrier that malicious actors must overcome to gain unauthorized access. Even if your login credentials are compromised, the second factor of authentication provides an added layer of protection. This extra step acts as a powerful deterrent, making it exponentially more difficult for attackers to breach your account and compromise your business information, such as financial details or customer data.

Groupon’s 2-Factor Authentication uses a mobile authentication app to verify your identity. When enrolled, after entering your login credentials, you will be prompted to provide a second form of authentication/ This will be a unique code obtained from the authentication services. This additional step acts as a powerful safeguard, as even if someone manages to obtain your password, they won't be able to access your Merchant account without the second factor.

Enrolling in 2-Factor Authentication

Click on the top banner within the Merchant Center to get started on enrolment. You will be presented with a screen asking you to download an authenticator app.

  1. On your next login, you will be asked to provide a six digit passcode from your Authenticator app. Open the Authenticator app on your mobile and take note of the six digit code provided for Groupon.

  2. Once registered on the app, you will be asked to scan a QR code or enter a setup key. We will provide a QR code on the Account Security page to scan with your authenticator app. There is also the option of using a setup key which is provided below the QR code.

  3. Once the QR Code is scanned or the setup key provided, the authenticator will return a six digit passcode.

  4. Enter this passcode in the fields provided and you should now be enabled for 2-Factor Authentication.

How do I recover my account if I have lost access to my 2-Factor Authentication method?

There are times when you have lost access to your mobile device or the Authenticator app. You will need to use a recovery key to regain access to your Groupon account if 2-Factor Authentication is enabled.

Your recovery key was available as a download when you first set up 2-Factor Authentication. Search for a file titled 'Groupon-RecoveryCode.txt' on your devices. This contains a recovery key code.

Visit the Groupon Recovery Key page and enter the recovery key code. Please note that this will disable 2-Factor Authentication and will ask you to login again.

For security reasons, will not be able to restore access to accounts with two-factor authentication enabled if you lose access to all your account recovery methods including the recovery key.

How can I make my password more secure?

To prevent unauthorised access, your Groupon Merchant Center password should be easy for you to remember, but hard for someone else to figure out. Here are three tips for creating a strong password:

  1. Make it unique

Make sure it’s different than passwords you use for other mobile apps, such as an email or bank account. That way, if someone figures out your merchant mobile password, they won’t be able to use it to access your other accounts (or vice versa).

  2. Change it often

If someone knows your password, they might be accessing your merchant mobile without you knowing. Changing it on a regular basis helps prevent this type of unauthorised access.

  3. Use lots of characters and avoid common phrases

Make sure it’s at least 8 characters long with a mix of special characters (#, $, &, !, etc.). You should also avoid using common words or phrases, as well as any personal information.

If you need to change your password, complete the following steps:

  • Click 'Admin ' on the left hand side of your Merchant Center page
  • Choose 'Change Password'
  • Enter your old password and your new password to update
