How will I earn Groupon Bucks via the Groupon mobile app?

What's the fine print for this offer?

This is a by-invitation-only offer to select Groupon subscribers. If you have been selected to participate, you'll earn $10 in Groupon Bucks once you make your first purchase of a Groupon deal via the mobile app (using a credit card, Groupon Bucks, or a combination thereof). In order for you to receive the Groupon Bucks, you must purchase while logged in with the same email address to which Groupon sent this offer. Groupon Bucks earned through this offer are subject to review and revocation by Groupon at any time for any reason.

How long is this offer valid?

If I use Groupon's mobile site (by going to via my mobile device's web browser), will I still earn the bonus Groupon Bucks?

Not at this time. The Groupon Bucks offer applies only if you use the Groupon mobile app (not the mobile site).

Can I forward the offer email to a friend?

We'd love it if you could get the word out about the Groupon mobile app, but keep in mind the offer you received is specifically for your email address.

What are Groupon Bucks? How do they work?

Each Groupon Buck equals one dollar and is considered a credit. Once you have any amount of Groupon Bucks in your account, your Groupon Bucks will be applied automatically to your next purchase of a Groupon deal. It's as simple as that.

For example, if you have $10 in Groupon Bucks and the deal you want is $20, you'll end up paying only $10 with your credit card. On the other hand, if you apply the same Groupon Bucks to a deal that's only $3, your remaining $7 in Groupon Bucks will be applied to a future purchase automatically.

How can I make a purchase via the Groupon mobile app?
  1. Download and install the app for your type of mobile device (click here to see where you can download it).
  2. Open the app.
  3. Find a great deal you're interested in, and when you're ready to buy it, click "Buy!"
  4. Sign in using the same email address where we sent you the Groupon Bucks offer.
  5. Choose your payment method (don't worry, it'll be safe) and click Confirm Purchase.
  6. Congrats! Any Groupon Bucks you're eligible to receive will be deposited into your account within 72 hours of eligible purchase.

Is it safe to use the Groupon app on my mobile device?

Yes. Any purchase you make from the Groupon mobile app is processed via a Secure Socket Layer connection (SSL) and is fully encrypted. Your personal information is safe and secure.

Does Groupon guarantee purchases made via the Groupon mobile app?

They should be deposited into your account within 72 hours of eligible purchase via the Groupon mobile app.

I tried buying a Groupon via the Groupon mobile app but got an error. Will I still earn Groupon Bucks?

The purchase must be successful in order to earn your Groupon Bucks. If you encounter an error, chances are the order wasn't successful and you'll have to try again. Of course, don't hesitate to contact us and we'll check to see whether your order went through.

What if I downloaded the Groupon mobile app a while ago? Can I still earn Groupon Bucks?

Absolutely. Even if you dowloaded the mobile app before your received this offer, you can still earn $10 in Groupon Bucks when you purchase a deal on the app before the expiration date noted in the promotional email you received.

If I buy a deal with existing Groupon Bucks, can I still earn these bonus Groupon Bucks?

Yes you can. Whether you buy via credit card, Groupon Bucks, or a combination of the two, you can still earn bonus Groupon Bucks during this promotion.

How can I earn more Bucks?

You can earn Groupon Bucks in a handful of other ways. For example, if you refer a friend to Groupon and they make a purchase, you could earn $10 in Groupon Bucks. We also send out offers to select groups of our best customers from time to time which include offers for Groupon Bucks.

How do I see how many Bucks I have in my account?

You can check your Bucks balance in the "My Gifts" section of "My Stuff" on the drop-down menu located in the upper-right corner of your screen.

Will my Groupon Bucks ever expire?

Nope. Any unused Groupon Bucks will stay in your account and will be applied automatically toward your next Groupon purchase.

Can I apply my Groupon Bucks to a Gift Card purchase?

Not at this time. They can be redeemed only for purchases of Groupon deals.

Once I get my Groupon Bucks, can I redeem them using the Groupon mobile app?

Definitely. They'll be applied at checkout in the same way as if you were purchasing a Groupon deal on your computer.
