People celebrate special occasions by decorating things with baubles, as evidenced by hanging ornaments on Christmas trees and emptying drums of diamonds over winning coaches. Bauble up with today's Groupon: for $45, you get a jewellery-beading class at Boutique Unique (a $90 total value). The class includes the following:

  • Three in-class projects (a $15 value each):
    • A pair of earrings
    • A bracelet
    • A necklace
  • Use of all supplies, tools, and beading materials (a $45 value)

Classes are held on the following days and range from 2 to 3 hours:

  • Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Sundays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Boutique Unique helps nascent baublesmiths manifest their creative impulses in the form of glittering jewellery with hands-on beading classes. Helmed by an expert instructor, each class supports pupils with one-on-one attention and outfits them with the requisite tools needed to forge a three-piece jewellery set capable of catching the attention of passersby and astronauts out for an afternoon float. Bedizen languid earlobes in a pair of freshly minted earrings, and add a touch of artful glamour to necks and wrists with a new necklace and bracelet. Jewellers can festoon their wearable masterworks with beads made of glass, semi-precious stones, wood, freshwater pearls, and crystal, arranging the perforated pellets into abstract patterns or concrete replicas of DNA strands. Once the class has concluded and all participants have broken free of the final group hug, students can escort their bijoux home to take up residence in their new jewellery box domiciles.

Boutique Unique

Boutique Unique was formed under the steady hands of Brenda Weiss, the shop's resident artist and a self-taught bead-smith who learned her craft through books and trial and error. Brenda keeps her studio stocked with her own whimsical creations, as well as the works of more than 20 local and prairie artisans. Inside, visitors may browse an eclectic selection of women's clothing, home décor, and handmade jewellery, including specially made pieces for big events such as weddings and graduations.
