In your free time, you can explore Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park—which was built for the 2012 London Olympics—and the National Gallery, home to works by Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Vincent van Gogh, and scores more. A half-day tour of the West End on day 3 stops at many of the city’s major attractions and offers views of Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace, where you’ll have a chance to witness the Changing of the Guard.
Days 4–6: Stratford-upon-Avon, Stonehenge, Liverpool, Lake District
The next leg of the trip takes you to Stonehenge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that may be the planet’s most famous prehistoric monument. Then you'll venture into the heart of England with a visit to Stratford-upon-Avon—William Shakespeare’s hometown—and the rural villages of the Cotswolds. After a drive through the Lake District on day 6, you’ll cross over into Scotland and continue on to the capital city, Edinburgh.
Day 7–8: Edinburgh
A local guide will take you around to the city’s historic landmarks during a morning tour on day 7. The trip includes a view of Edinburgh Castle. The Royal Mile, which runs through the oldest part of town, is lined with medieval buildings and some of the world’s first high-rise structures. The afternoon is yours to visit sites such as the Royal Botanic Garden, where you'll find Britain’s largest rhododendron and azalea gardens.
