You lose some control in hotel choices( as you don't get to choose) but the ones offered were nice. An agent met us at both locations and spent some time with us giving us our vouchers and maps and letting us know where to go and see. That was a nice touch. Loved the high speed train ride.

Madrid: Days 1–2 and 6–7

Spain’s capital city is also its largest, situated in the geographic center of the country—it’s said that all roads in Spain lead to the city’s famous Puerta del Sol. After arriving in Madrid, you’ll find your way to hotel accommodations such as the Hotel Principe Pio. In Madrid, be sure to visit the Royal Palace, built on the site of a 9th-century fortress and containing some 3,400 rooms that support a world-class art collection bolstered by works from Spanish painters such as Caravaggio and Francisco de Goya.

You could spend a few days inside the city’s art museums alone. The Prado is one of the world’s most-visited art museums, while the nearby Museo Reina Sofia contains Guernica, Picasso’s masterpiece on the bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War.

Córdoba: Day 3

Córdoba, also known as Cordova to Westerners, has changed hands many times over its history. Iberians, Romans, and an Islamic caliphate have controlled this Andalusian city. Today, Córdoba boasts Europe’s second-largest Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for ancient architecture reflective of its diverse history. The Great Mosque of Córdoba, presently a cathedral, is perhaps best known for the hundreds of patterned columns and pillars in its interior. The cathedral is adjacent to the Roman Bridge, another landmark built more than 2,000 years ago. Accommodations may include the TRYP Córdoba Gallos Hotel, located within easy walking distance of these essential sites.

Seville: Days 4–5**

Seville’s tapas scene is unrivaled across Spain. The southern city supports three major universities, and students lead the tapas charge, hopping from one bar to the next over the course of a long night out. Feel free to explore the three UNESCO World Heritage sites cloistered in Seville’s gorgeous Old Town: the Cathedral of Seville, Alcázar Palace, and the General Archive of the Indies. On Day 6, you’ll take the high-speed train north to Madrid for the final two days of your trip.
