One-Bedroom Apartments Northwest of Downtown OKC with Courtesy Vehicle Service

Isola Bella prides itself on acting as a home away from home for travelers: its private apartments each come equipped with a full kitchen, a patio, and an in-unit washer and dryer. There’s peace and quiet, too, as the apartments are tucked about 10 miles northwest of downtown Oklahoma City and located just a few minutes from Lake Hefner’s tranquil shores.

When you do want to venture off campus, Isola Bella makes it easy—you can borrow the keys to one of Isola Bella's courtesy vehicles, which are free for up to two hours daily (based on availability, must provide full-coverage insurance). Back at the property, take advantage of the 30,000-square-foot fitness center, or hop into the indoor pool. There’s also an indoor tennis court, a boxing ring, a basketball court, and a sauna. Recently remodeled executive rooms feature LCD TVs, daily housekeeping, new furnishings, upgraded linens and bedding, as well as expanded kitchen and dinnerware items.

Monday–Friday, Isola Bella treats guests to a complimentary breakfast and dinner every day. The breakfast buffet features a smorgasbord of breads, cereals, fruit, fried eggs, sausage or bacon, french toast, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. Although the dinner menu can change, past offerings have included country-fried steak, chicken marinara pasta, and veggie quesadillas. If you bunk at Isola Bella on the weekends, there’s a free brunch spread.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: Former Frontier City with Modern Niche Museums

Oklahoma City is a relatively young town, founded a little more than a century ago in 1889. It's both the capital and the largest city of the Sooner State, a city lined with contemporary museums, modern art displays, and vibrant neighborhoods. In the historical Bricktown district, you can stroll along a picturesque river walk past eateries and shops all housed in the traditional red brick buildings that gave the area its name. At The Outlet Shoppes of Oklahoma City, there are more than 85 stores and a food court.

You’ll also find several niche museums to check out, such as the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and the Museum of Osteology, which bills itself as "America's Only Skeleton Museum." Here, you can see hundreds of skulls and skeletons of various animals, including primates, reptiles, and a 40-foot whale.
