Seven-Day Tour of Costa Rica

On this seven-day, six-night Costa Rican vacation, you’ll split your time at Hotel Costa Verde, near Manuel Antonio National Park, and Hotel Magic Mountain in the shadow of Arenal Volcano. When you’re not exploring one of the richest ecosystems on earth via the included river-tubing adventure and horseback tour, you can relax in cliff-side swimming pools or grab a tropical cocktail in the open-air bars.

Roam the Rainforest Around Arenal Volcano

Until recently, Arenal was Costa Rica’s most active volcano. It’s dormant now, meaning visitors have easy access to the surrounding region’s fertile rainforests and whitewater rapids. The volcano’s geothermic activity has created a number of natural hot springs, many of which are close to Hotel Magic Mountain . If you want to see the local wildlife, join a day tour to the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge. The dense jungle houses monkeys, sloths, and various tropical birds that can be viewed from a boat.

You’ll spend three nights at Hotel Magic Mountain , a modern colonial-style hotel with stunning views of the Arenal. During your stay, you’ll be treated to daily breakfast, a two-hour tubing adventure, and a one-hour horseback ride.

Explore Manuel Antonio National Park from Cliff-Side Hotel

Manuel Antonio National Park is one of Costa Rica’s most popular parks and also one of its smallest, spanning only 1,680 acres. What it lacks in size it makes up for in gorgeous beaches, rainforest hiking trails, and exotic wildlife such as howler monkeys, toucans, and sloths. Apart from the jungle, you can while away the hours at Playa Manuel Antonio, a beautiful half-mile beach, or visit the adjacent town of Quepos, known for its vibrant evening scene, numerous restaurants, bars, and discotheques.

Hotel Costa Verde sits on a coastal rainforest bluff, with the ocean on one side and the park on the other. While you’re here, you can sample authentic Costa Rican seafood dishes in the open-air Anaconda restaurant, lounge beside three cliff-side pools, take a yoga class, or close out the night with drinks in the cantina.
