Athens, Days 1–2
After an overnight flight from the United States, you have a full day to explore Athens at your leisure on a 24-hour hop-on, hop-off tour. Athens is home to some of the world’s most culturally significant landmarks: you'll stop by the Temple of Zeus, a temple dedicated to the king of the Olympian gods, located in the center of Athens.
Must-see: The Parthenon is the crown jewel atop the Acropolis, a columned temple originally built to honor the goddess Athena around 438 BCE.
Your hotel: You'll stay at the Herodion or similar accommodations.
Mykonos, Days 3–5
Whitewashed villages cling to coastal cliffs on the island of Mykonos; you’ll take a ferry ride from Athens to get here. It’s famous for its bright blue seas and infamous for its fun-loving party atmosphere—the dancing starts on the beach during the day, and the nightclubs stay open till sunrise. You can take an optional cruise to the island of Delos, the mythological birthplace of the gods Apollo and Artemis.
Must-see: The Paraportiani church is a whitewashed structure dating back to the 15th century, and it's actually a conglomeration of five churches melded into one. It’s considered the most photographed of the 400 churches on the island.
Your hotel: You'll stay at the Myconian Imperial or similar accommodations.
Athens, Days 6–7
In the morning, you’ll board the ferry back to the mainland, where you’ll have a full day to check out Athens at your leisure. The following morning, you’ll travel to the airport for your return flight home.
Your hotel: You'll stay at the Herodion or similar accommodations.
