Days 1–2: Kathmandu
Your trip begins in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. Take an early morning yoga class, go sightseeing, and relax.
Accommodations: Hotel Utse, Shakti Hotel, or Kathmandu Eco Hotel
Day 3: Pokhara
In the morning, the group is transferred to Pokhara. You can spend the day relaxing in preparation of your Himalayan trek, or sign up for an optional whitewater-rafting excursion on the Trishuli River.
Accommodations: Hotel Tulsi or similar
Days 4–8: Himalayan Trekking
Over the next five days, you’ll trek through the Himalayas along with a Sherpa crew and experienced guides. On the trail, all meals are provided and you’ll spend each night in a comfortable lodge.
The first leg of the trek will take you through scenic towns, across open rice fields, and past a waterfall. Later in the day, you’ll arrive at Banthanti, an alpine town situated in a forest clearing at 7,545 feet. Here, you can take in panoramic views of Annapurna South and Mount Fishtail.
The group will reach several vistas with unobstructed views of the Himalayan peaks on Day 6. From here, the trail climbs steeply; you’ll leave the mountain forests and enter a field of cane. In the village of Tadapani—which translates to “Far Water”—you’ll see Annapurna, Gangapurna, and the Glacier Dome.
Day 7 takes you on a descent through a forest of wildflowers, inhabited by long-tailed monkeys. You’ll tour through the village of Ghandruk, visit a local museum, and attend a sheep wool-weaving workshop.
On Day 8, the last day of the trek, the trail descends through terraced fields on a scenic, river-hugging path. When you arrive at Nayapool, you’ll be shuttled back to Pokhara to stay in Hotel Tulsi (or similar).
Days 9–10: Chitwan National Park
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Chitwan National Park is situated in the lowlands of Nepal. The park is one of the last refuges of the single-horned Asiatic rhinoceros and the Bengal tiger. Within the park, you’ll take short walking tour and see a presentation on the wildlife.
The next day, you’ll take a canoe trip through the park in the morning and climb aboard an elephant for a safari in the afternoon. Keep on the lookout for leopards, sloths, deer, monkeys, and wild boar.
Accommodations: Hotel Parkland or Unique Wild Resort
Days 11–12: Kathmandu
You can spend the second-to-last day exploring Kathmandu, before catching a flight on Day 12.
