Very nice resort - accommodation not very luxe but sufficient to have a good stay. If you are looking for a resort on the beach with not many animation but things to do in the surrounding it is a nice place to stay, possibility for horseback driving, segway, visit ecologic part and plenty of restaurants. Transport by golf carts very good organised and food and beverage is of good quality. (no all inclusive, only breakfast is included) Staff is very kindly in all parts of the hotel. Beach casitas - situated right on the beach. To enter you accommodation there is a door to go inside a little ¨patio¨ with a nice and spacy living room, then you got 2 separate bedrooms which have their entrance on this main patio. Sprawling, Four-Star Resort Overlooking the Caribbean Sea

Puntacana Resort & Club is a world unto itself. The 15,000-acre property encompasses three golf courses, six clay tennis courts, a shopping village, an ecological reserve, and several restaurants. The resort’s hotel sits on a prized piece of real estate along 3 miles of private beach overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Guests have access to all of the resort's attractions, which range from a petting zoo to the most popular draw—the golf courses (not included with the resort enhancement add-on). There are three of them to choose from, including the beachside La Cana Golf Course, which, at 7,152 yards, is one of the longest courses in the Caribbean.

Apart from golfing, you can reenact the cover of a romance novel during one- or two-hour horseback rides along the beach or take a scuba tour of a sunken ship ($70/dive). Other aquatic activities include deep-sea fishing ($140/person for a half-day trip) and hobie cat sailing ($45/hour). You can also take part in nonmotorized watersports classes at no charge, including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, and snorkeling. For a break from the bustle, meander through the resort’s ecological reserve, where 15 natural-spring lagoons shimmer in the sun.

The hotel's deluxe rooms are conveniently located near the beach. With the resort enhancement add-on, you can start the day off with a buffet-style breakfast at La Cana restaurant, and then choose lunch from one of several onsite eateries. Throughout your stay, you can belly up to any of the onsite bars and lounges for beers, house wine, and mixed drinks.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: Miles of White-Sand Beaches

When Christopher Columbus landed on the Dominican Republic more than five centuries ago, he described it as "a beautiful island paradise." Punta Cana, located on the island's easternmost tip, lays legitimate claim to that description. The coast stretches for more than 20 miles and is dotted with coconut palms, chaise lounges, and laid-back bars. Glitzy resorts feature prominently along the shoreline, but a short drive up the coast, Playa El Cortecito harks back to earlier times. Brightly colored thatched-roof shacks line the beach, and local fishers bring their boats to shore each afternoon with the day's catch.

The service was excellent! It was a three star facility with a five star staff. The hotel pool was a little dirty, but the casitas, the restaurants, clubhouse, and other facilities were pristine. The staff bent over backward to make sure we had a great time and everyone was extremely courteous. My only complaint was being in the dark about what most of he included activities entailed. There wasn't much available information, short of the activity's name. A brief description of activity and recommended attire could be very helpful to future guests.

this was my first experience at a resort, and while I really enjoyed my stay, it isn't really my style of vacation. But I would recommend it to resort vacationeers.

Only thing missing is an expresso machine at the breakfast facility.

The hotel is awesome. The only bad experience we had was the people that tried to swindel us for some jewelry. These were the guys that sell necklaces, alcohol and othet random stuff outside of the restaurant during breakfast. The guy was unbelievabley pushy ...which I can deal with but at one point he physically ripped my money out of my hand and wouldn't give it back. I ended up buying 2 chinsy necklaces for like $50 ... Not a good experience at all.
