Renovated Country Lodge with Upscale Restaurant in Oregon’s Willamette Valley

Once a secluded country getaway for politicians and celebrities, Village Green Resort was renovated in 2003 to recapture its upscale feel. The resort is defined by its 14 themed gardens, spread out over 14 acres and together support more than 2,200 different plant species. Relax in the Woodland Shade garden, where cascading flowering plants create a dramatic canopy, or the lustrous Golden Garden, where a towering tulip tree bears hanging wind chimes and bells. This tranquil setting also makes for a convenient spot to visit nearby wineries—there are nine within 25 miles—and Cottage Grove’s classic covered bridges.

The onsite restaurant Seasons at the Green, serves gourmet fare such as honey-glazed wild salmon and slow-roasted prime rib.
