Fan Yang’s Gazillion Bubble Show is more than a spectacle of delicate art, dazzling lasers, and moving music—it’s an extension of his family. The 16-time Guinness World Record holder has devoted his life to understanding and creating bubbles, creating a stage show that demonstrates his mastery of the medium. Over the past two decades, the Yang family joined in, building their legacy on an effervescent foundation, and today the Gazillion Bubble Show – The Next Generation might star any one of the five suds sculptors: Fan, Ana, Jano, Deni, or Melody.

In this clip, courtesy of the Vancouver Sun, Fan speaks of his inspiration for the project: a pond fed by a burbling waterfall by his humble childhood home, and a single bubble floating on the surface. This fascination followed him into his teenage years, when Yang devised his own soap solution and a scheme to create a bubble big enough for him to step inside—which soon evolved into an internationally acclaimed stage show.

The youngest Yang in bubbles, Melody currently headlines the show most nights and has taken her own version of the performance on the road across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Delighting children young, old, and aging in reverse, Melody specializes in extraterrestrial recreations of galaxies and solar systems inside her orbs and has surpassed her parents’ records for largest bubble and most people inside a bubble.

New World Stages

Stepping into New World Stages is like stepping into a cultural retreat. Outside, Times Square bustles with international energy, but inside, away from the travelers and giant screens, an oasis of blue and yellow waits. From a lobby that speaks strongly of industrial architecture, five stages branch off to host Tony- and Pulitzer-winning performances as well as spectacles outside any expectation. Before or after each show, the Time Out New York lounge quenches thirst and conversational cravings with a full bar.

The Groupon Guide to: Famous Haunted Attractions

Many historical landmarks claim to have undead residents, but none are so infamously haunted as these famous destinations:

Winchester Mystery House
Built: 1884–1922
The Ghastly Details: Construction of the maze-like Winchester mansion was overseen by the widow of the Winchester rifle's inventor so that the restless spirits killed by her husband's creation could have a place to crash after their own haunted houses were ordered by the mayor to be blown up with dynamite.

The Ludlow Lighthouse
Built: 1790
The Ghastly Details: Said to have a will of its own, the Ludlow Lighthouse willfully misguided countless ships onto its rocky banks, killing hundreds of seafarers—thus tethering their spirits to the macabre monument and necessitating that it be blown up with dynamite in 1995.

The Carousel of Souls
Built: 1909
The Ghastly Details: After a mule unexpectedly kicked over a kerosene lamp onto a pan of waffle oil, this carousel is the only surviving structure untouched by the Great World's Fair Fire of 1909. Some say that late at night you can still hear laughter, leading experts to recommend that this obviously possessed attraction be safely dynamited later this month.

What are the most haunted locations in America, and what can be done about them? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
