- One year of housing
Seven out of 10 girls living in the Everest region of Nepal cannot attend college because of a dearth of safe housing for girls, according to The Small World, a nonprofit charitable organization. Working to create more resources for young women in developing countries, Edge of Seven supports projects that bolster girls’ access to health care, education, and economic opportunities.
In collaboration with The Small World, Edge of Seven constructed a women’s hostel in Salleri, Nepal, where 40 young women from rural areas in the Solukhumbu (Everest region) can live while completing their higher education. The nonprofit is raising money to provide scholarships for 40 girls who will be living in the hostel for at least 10 years, supplementing their school admission, tuition, medical care, and exam fees, as well as providing free electricity and Internet so they can focus on their schoolwork while living in a secure and productive environment. With this campaign, Edge of Seven can provide a place to stay for three of this first class of students as they attend higher secondary school (grades 11 and 12).
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help provide housing for girls attending higher secondary education. If G-Team members raise $450, Edge of Seven can fund boarding for three girls from rural Nepal to attend higher secondary school for one year. Each additional $150 raised will fund a year of boarding for one girl.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
