As part of the YWCA’s Economic Empowerment Institute, TechGyrls conducts a 14-week afterschool program for girls ages 9–14 to help them improve their math, science, engineering, and technology skills. The YWCA distributes tech kits to the girls with the ingredients necessary to create their own robots, including components, hardware, and software. While building their robots, girls can establish foundations for complex engineering concepts and creative problem-solving skills. The project aims to make technology more approachable for its participants, as well as cultivate an interest in technology and scientific careers as a possibility for the future.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help YWCA Metropolitan Chicago promote girls’ involvement in science and technology. If G-Team members raise $510, then YWCA Metropolitan Chicago can provide tech kits for 17 girls to build their own robots. Each additional $30 raised will fund a tech kit for another young girl.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings."
