Q&A with Kelley Bogle, Yoga Teacher
Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
As teachers, we try to bring fresh ways of practicing and observing the poses taught. It is our job to encourage the student to be their own final authority during the practice. The intention is always towards healing, strengthening, and unionizing the body, mind and spirit.
Do you run your gym according to a particular exercise philosophy?
While initially trained in the Sivananda traditions, we have studied, practiced, and taught several other styles [of yoga].
What is a typical session of your program or class like for a student?
We start with yogic breathing exercises. We then move into a warm up that flows into what might be our focus for the day. The class will then move into a cool down period, always followed by the final resting pose, where we practice meditation, guided imagery, and stillness.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Namaste.
