For a long time now, I have been really wanting to go to Sarasota School of Glass and create something beautiful. Then I saw that there was a Groupon for it, and told my daughter that is what I want to do for my birthday this year. I booked it online and was so happy that they were open on a Tuesday, because that was my actual birthday. During the online booking process we each had to choose between vase, wavy bowl or plate. My daughter and I both chose to create a wavy bowl. Then we looked for inspiration online on how we wanted to design our wavy bowls so we would have some sort of plan when we arrived and have maximum time to work on our projects. It was a beautiful drive from Clearwater. The studio had so many creative pieces to look at. Our instructor was great and taught us everything we would need to know about cutting the glass and items we could use to create our own unique masterpieces. We came back a week later to pick up our fused glass art after it had been placed in the kiln. We had such an amazing time, and I can't wait to go again. This may be my new addiction. There are so many different projects to choose from at the studio. We were so happy and proud of our finished wavy bowls when we picked them up. It was such an incredibly fun way to celebrate my birthday. I will be back.
