What You'll Get
Without massages, muscles hold on to pain, tension, and a deep-seated resentment for cookie dough. Treat your sinews to a kneading and prevent biceps from fighting the inputs of baking with today's Groupon: for $49, nonmembers get a 60-minute Swedish massage and a 15-minute hydro-massage-therapy treatment at A Touch of Eden (a $120 value for nonmembers).
A Touch of Eden's only massage therapist, Remy Avezzano, whisks clients into tranquility with hydro-infused massage therapy against a backdrop of vivid seascapes and life-size fruit sculptures. During the one-hour Swedish massage, taut muscles unwind beneath a series of broad, flowing strokes employed by Avezzano to augment circulation. Clients then dip into a hot tub for 15 additional minutes of kneading, as warm jets of water dissipate tension like the Wicked Witch of the West. Before the scheduled appointment, it's recommended to arrive freshly showered and free of oils and lotions. A Touch of Eden does not offer a shower before the massage.
Floor-to-ceiling seascapes and tropical tableaus span the walls of the private rooms in A Touch of Eden's interior. Guests can sink into a cloud-covered bed, tiptoe through a hallway fashioned after a giant apple core, or listen to relaxing mantras chanted by lush plant life in the spa's confines.
