What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
A Yummy Future is a nonprofit designed to inform and educate our youths on the positive benefits of constant and continuous use of proper nutrition via hands-on cooking classes. We participates in The Let’s Move! Initiative and Chefs Move to School Campaign. We run your local Healthy Hands Cooking.
What can a student expect in one of your classes?
A student can expect to learn the basics in kitchen safety and proper food-handling techniques and how to make healthy and yummy smoothies. The students will learn how to make two to three recipes per day, e.g., on pizza day kids will make their own pizza dough, slice and dice toppings, and bake!
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
The founder has been an emergency medical technician for many years and found the job fun and rewarding but very harmful to the EMT’s back. 95% of the patients were obese. Having to carry the patient as well as the gurney was very detrimental to the body.
What do you love most about your job?
We teach youths about healthy foods. We can be creative with food art and have contests and challenges. Baking is fun and definitely yummy!
