Option 1: Introductory Participatory Master Class on Zoom, 2-Hours. Learn acting techniques including sense memory, relaxation, scene cold-reading, personalization using substitution, intent, creative hiding and physical action. Stanislavski, Strasberg, Meisner and Adler disciplines are explored with highly regarded instructor Linda Ann Watt. About Academy of Acting for Film and Theatre
*Academy of Acting for Film and Theatre *is owned by Linda Ann Watt, actor, producer and director. Her classes help to prepare actors for a career in film, television, and theatre. Sessions are on Zoom and highlight on-camera acting and the business of acting. The Introductory Master Class through Groupon might prepare students with a foundation of techniques to use for scenes and monologues. Students participating in this class are encouraged and the scene work, improvisations, and exercises may be fun.
Watt holds an MFA in Theatre Performance Pedagogy and was nominated for a Tony Award for Excellence in Theatre Education in 2015, she is a member of SAG-AFTRA, AEA, and is a SAG-AFTRA signatory producer. Watt has appeared in films, television and national commercials. She mentored students in acting and filmmaking through her production company at Raleigh Studios in L.A. Recently, Watt was an acting instructor at GSU in Atlanta in the School of Film, Media and Theatre. She produced the educational DVD The Method based on Stanislavski and Strasberg and a 408 page book to be used as an encyclopedia for actors. Watt is passionate about teaching acting and teaches internationally on Zoom.
