  • Tickets are valid 10am-6pm daily subject to weather. The balloon will not fly if winds exceed 28 mph in the air, 18 mph on the ground or if there is a storm or lightning in the area.
  • Please note that the balloon is tethered and will not travel beyond 400 feet at any time.

In 1993, two 25-year-old engineers, Matthieu Gobbi and Jerome Giacomoni, pursued mankind’s dream to evolve into kites when they reinvented the tethered gas balloon, which enables faster rides than the typical gas balloon. With several models to choose from, their balloons have established themselves as attractions in more than 60 places around the world, including Paris, Berlin, and Angkor Wat Temple. At Disney Springs™, the retail, dining and entertainment complex located at the Walt Disney World Resort®, guests are introduced to the clouds via Aerophile’s innovative balloon. With enough space to seat up to 29 passengers, the tethered aircrafts climb up to 400 feet into the sky with the help of up to 210,000 cubic feet of helium, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding attractions and landscape.

We showed up on a Tuesday, January, non-holiday afternoon. It wasn’t too crowded, We showed our voucher from on our phone and the staff said they weren’t taking rides up at that time because of the wind. If you buy tickets from Groupon, you can use them before 6 pm without the $5 up-charge fee, but since they weren’t taking anyone up, we weren’t sure if we’d get to ride at all because we had early dinner plans. After dinner, started to leave Disney Springs and saw that the balloon was in ‘flight’, so we came back, paid the $5 per person up-charge and took our ride, after all. The landing was a little scary because of the wind, though. Overall, we enjoyed it,
