What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
ARCAN Taekwon-Do is a martial arts school in Nepean and Riverside South, in Ottawa, Ontario. We teach International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) Taekwon-Do to students ages 4 years old and up. ARCAN Taekwon-Do was originally founded in Argentina in 2002. ARCAN Taekwon-Do Canada opened its door in Ottawa in 2010. We have instructors from both Argentina and Canada with international-level competition experience and many years teaching groups of all ages. Our curriculum covers the entire Composition of Taekwon-Do which includes fundamental movements, patterns, sparring, self-defense, fitness and conditioning. Our instructors have completed International Instructors Courses with the ITF Technical Committee and are certified in First Aid and CPR.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Mr. Diego Cabanas, Head Instructor and Founder of ARCAN Taekwon-Do, has over twenty years of experience in Taekwon-Do as a student, competitor, instructor and coach. Argentina has always been known as one of the strongest countries in ITF Taekwon-Do. In 2009, Mr. Cabanas moved to Canada to share his passion, experience and knowledge of Taekwon-Do. He enjoys teaching and encouraging his students to always strive to better themselves as a marital artist and as an individual. “ARCAN Taekwon-Do: Making the ordinary EXTRAordinary”.
What do you love most about your job?
Mr. Cabanas loves seeing his students of all ages grow and improve in all aspects of Taekwon-Do: skills, technique, fitness and confidence. It is especially rewarding to see how Taekwon-Do has helped his students in succeeding and achieving their goals inside and outside the Dojang.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
Having parents thank me for the positive contribution I made in their life of their child is one of greatest compliments I have received.
