Bar Virgin is one of the few universities where students study cocktails and are encouraged to check their phones a lot. Their phones—or desktops, or tablets—are where they keep their course materials. The bartending university's courses take place exclusively online, through a mix of user-friendly lessons, quizzes, and video tutorials. With these learning aids, students master more than 60 drink recipes, as well as skills such as closing down the bar without throwing out every bottle of half-finished liquor. By program's end, pupils are certified bartenders with lifetime access to take a refresher course whenever they would like at no additional cost.
