It might look similar, but the frozen treat served at Blockheads Shavery is a lot different from what's in your ordinary snow cone. Blockheads specializes in snow cream, a dessert shaved from frozen blocks of cream in flavors such as green tea, strawberry, and black sesame. Depending on the time of year, fresh and in-season ingredients such as mango, avocado, and taro root allow for an expanding list of flavors. To that, staffers add toppings that fall into two categories: freshly made (think sea salt almond brittle and rice cakes) and natural ingredients, such as almond slices or strawberry. Of course, there's always room on top for a drizzle of caramel or chocolate sauce.
