I like this restaurant which is why I was excited about the Goupon. However, I was given a VERY hard time about using the Groupon! I basically had to argue with the owner about using it! First, they told me I couldn't use it for takeout (nowhere on the Goupon did it say that, it only said "bar only"). I told them I would order the food at the bar but I would have to take it with me because I could not stay- I had work to do. They didn't want me to do that so I asked if they were saying that I was not allowed to take anything I eat to go? In other words, if I were to eat only 1/2 my meal and ask for a to-go bag they would deny me? When they finally agreed to the take out, I was given a "lecture" by the owner that this isn't supposed to be the intention of the Goupon. That I'm supposed to sit, order drinks, perhaps bring my friends, etc to get them more business. I told him that I have been to Buka before and that it was my intention to order a beer while I waited for my food but the fact that he was giving me a hard time made me not want to order anything else but also to never visit the place again. The final insult came when I went to pay the balance and they didn't want to accept my credit card because they wanted to impose a credit card minimum purchase (it's actually illegal to request this if cards are accepted). They had an ATM in the restaurant but it was broken and so they asked me to "go across the street to the corner store to get cash". I flat out said no, handed them back my card and said that if they accept card payments it is illegal to impose a minimum purchase amount. They finally accepted my card and rang the balance. What a horrible experience!
