About Burlesque Boom
Sarah Torkoly has devoted her entire life to dance. Born into a family that was dedicated to the art, she began her first lessons at age 2. She took her family's passion to new heights over the years, studying eclectic styles ranging from ballet to hip hop and even competing on So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Throughout all of these experiences, Sarah searched for an opportunity to combine elements of dance and fitness to create an original workout regimen in the process. She succeeded by founding Burlesque Boom.
Her classes combine the sensual choreography of burlesque with the pulse-raising workout of cardio interval training. The result? Gals revel in higher levels of self-confidence, engage in an alternative to traditional exercise regimens, and receive a full-body workout without resorting to becoming a professional alligator wrestler. And though her routines are challenging, she scales the intensity of each drill, allowing women of all ages and fitness levels to benefit from the empowering workouts. During introductory-level lessons, she helps beginners master the fundamental dance moves and burlesque mindset, and provides a more intense workout by ramping up the pace during advanced lessons.
