What You'll Get

Cupcakes, like babies, are smaller, cuter, and more tempting to nibble on. Indulge your maternal/carniveral instincts with today's Groupon: for $7, you get a box of six specialty cupcakes from Cake in a Cup (a $15 value), located on West Central Avenue.

Rising up daily in small batches, the gourmet tiny treats at Cake in a Cup are as creatively inspired as they are incredibly diverse. In all, Cake in a Cup features nearly 30 flavors each month, with five rotating flavors served up daily, in addition to the mouthwatering mainstays of red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla. Depending on the day, a peer through the glass in search of your six potential cupcakes ($2.50 each) may lock peepers onto such wondrous treats as the classic snickerdoodle, caulked with a cinnamon-cream-cheese filling, or the summertime essential of orange dreamsicle, which triples up on the national color of the Netherlands with orange cake, orange buttercream, and orange juice. Other assorted flavors making cameos on the calendar include lemon-cream cake, rocky road, and gingerbread.

Instead of making a different cake to suit everyone's tastes, you can get half a dozen different flavors for fickle friends, or firmly redefine adulthood with a cupcake-tasting party that includes a wine pairing for each scrumptious treat. Besides, serving cupcakes to your guests cuts down on dirty dishes and eliminates the shame of being the first one to cut into the cake.

About Cake in a Cup

When Lori Jacobs and Dana Iliev first opened all-cupcake bakery Cake in a Cup, they spent more than six months experimenting with flavors; they tried at least one new recipe each day, according to The Blade. Those months of experimentation paid off in 2011 when Jacobs and Iliev won the top prize on an episode of Cupcake Wars on the Food Network Channel.

Their winning cupcake, which wowed judges with its notes of dark chocolate and stout beer and its inventive design, is representative of the creative flavors you'll find inside the bakery. Guinness Black & Tan, white chocolate mandarin, and savory-sweet Millionaire Bacon are a few regulars on the weekly cupcake roster.
