Similar deals
Multi-Grammy-winning pianist Murray Perahia comes to Cal Performances' Zellerbach Hall for a performance covering the greats: Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and several pieces by Brahms, whose works fill his latest album. Known for his technical brilliance and tone, to say nothing of his witty and engaging stage presence, Perahia's spent much of this season with the acclaimed Academy of St. Martin in the Fields orchestra, where he's conducted and played all five of Beethoven's piano concertos. In fact, the Gramophone Hall of Famer is set to close this Berkeley concert with Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 29, "Hammerklavier," considered to be one of the most challenging solo works in the entire classical canon.
