Poetry would be comprised entirely of haikus and sonnets dedicated to cakes and pastries if poets didn't devour their idyllic subjects before having a chance to write. Say what meter and rhythm cannot with today's Groupon to Cassis Bakery, located in Beverly. Choose one of the following Groupons:
- For $30, you get admission to one cooking class (a $50 value). Classes are typically held on Thursdays at 6 p.m.
- For $10, you get $20 worth of pastries, cakes, cookies, and more.
Cassis Bakery prepares a plethora of artfully crafted baked pastries, ranging from delectable tarts to tastefully tiny truffles. With the first deal, you'll get to learn the tricks of the baking trade during one of Cassis Bakery's baking classes, which will focus on areas such as cookies, cakes, and long-thought-to-be-extinct pastries. Aspiring oven-overlords will learn from Cassis owner and chef David Tsypkin, a Culinary Institute of America graduate who's dedicated to creating innovative and artistic baked goods that challenge yet satisfy your taste buds. Call ahead to schedule your spot.
With the second deal, you'll get $20 worth of fare from Cassis' sumptuous lineup of treats. The triple-delight mini-pastry is composed of a hazelnut wafer crowned with decadent chocolate, raspberry, and buttercreams ($1.49), while the petit fours are Cassis' take on the French treat, using handmade marzipan, a light layer of fruity raspberry preserves, and chocolate-lined piping ($1.75). Full-sized pastries include the Romeo and Juliet, which combine classic rum cheesecake and rich chocolate mousse in a star-crossed and only slightly tragic package. Pastry purveyors can also peruse Cassis' selection of gluten-free mousses or meticulously crafted tortes. Indulge in a sinfully sugary treat or learn how to whip up treats in time for the annual NASA Bake Sale with today's Groupon to Cassis Bakery.
In-store only. The minimum-quantity order of full-sized and mini pastries may vary by the type of pastry and the time they are ordered.
- The beautiful display in the pastry case was so alluring that after we placed the order, we couldn’t leave without taking a few treats along. – North Shore Dish
- This is one of my FAVORITE bakeries that I've ever been to. French in nature, the pastries are decorated fantastically and are incredibly rich and well made. The coffee is equally wonderful. – Charoline D., Yelp
