An effective fitness routine relies on a diversified approach, much like an effective courtship varies between serenades, poetry, and carving your initials onto the beloved's possessions. Woo your body with today's Groupon: for $15, you get a two-week membership (up to a $55.98 value) to Cedar Springs Health Racquet & Sportsclub in Burlington.
Cedar Springs Health Racquet & Sportsclub's resort-like atmosphere and extensive services earned it multiple category nominations in the Burlington Post Readers' Choice 2011 awards. More than 200,000 square feet of multisport fitness and recreational facilities reshape individuals and families to a healthier geometry. The two-week unlimited membership grants 24-hour access to the basketball courts, 11 indoor tennis courts, racquetball courts, the human-fly training wall, and a fitness centre generously equipped to banish wait times. Tennis court fees cost an additional $18–$26 per hour, shared by all players.
Certified personal trainers provide free fitness assessments and an initial fitness program, catapulting members into fitdom. More than 70 classes per week engage limbs and trunks with everything from spinning and yoga to aqua fit and extreme karaoke. An indoor and outdoor water park boasts four water slides, a hot tub, and pools for leisure or lap swimming. Postworkout, the steam room and sauna restore wearied muscles.
Parents with kids aboard enjoy priority parking, as well as daycare ($4 per child $2 per additional child for up to two-and-a-half hours). Further facilities include an on-site spa, a pro shop, and a restaurant serving healthy dishes from 7 a.m. through 10 p.m.
Testimonials can be found on the Cedar Springs Health Racquet & Sportsclub website:
- No club can offer so many things under one roof. For me, I need to know that not only am I going to be able to take advantage of the best classes/instructors and facilities in the area, but that my two kids are going to be equally taken care of in the daycare. At Cedar Springs I can have it all under one roof. The club hires friendly, knowledgeable and caring staff, which guarantees me the most positive workout experience possible. I am very proud and grateful to be a member of such a great facility. – Judi Smith
Cedar Springs Health Racquet & Sportsclub
It's a good thing Cedar Springs Health Racquet & Sportsclub is open 24 hours a day, because it takes a long time to explore everything it has to offer. Fresh off a two-million-dollar renovation, the Burlington location measures in at 200,000 square feet, including seven swimming pools, four water slides, courts for tennis, squash, and racquetball, a 24-hour basketball gymnasium, and even an onsite restaurant. Sixty-five weekly classes operate more than 12 hours a day, and range from the strength-building Group Power program to the Latin dance–inspired Zumba class. Thanks to an assessment by a professional trainer, tennis and racquetball players can be paired with opponents of appropriate skill.
At 10,000 square feet, the Ancaster location is considerably more compact, but it still manages to house plenty of exercise equipment and host lots of spin, Zumba, and other group exercise classes.
