Youth who engage in volunteer activities contribute to both their community and their own sense of achievement. Long-term involvement in service projects discourages risky behaviors and stimulates young peoples' drive to succeed at home and in academic endeavors. The Donate Love Foundation sponsors youth community service projects in such diverse fields as environmental advocacy, animal care, and homeless outreach, introducing children ages 10 to 17 to the benefits of social responsibility and civic involvement.
Donate Love Foundation participants volunteer on Saturday mornings for a minimum of two hours in monthly, organized service projects, which promote interpersonal skills and character development within these future leaders. On Saturday, April 23, volunteers will visit an assisted living facility, bringing games and basic household necessities including toiletries, tissues, towels, blankets, and socks. Time spent playing games with facility residents will bring joy and a sense of connection to a demographic at risk for loneliness while promoting community awareness and a greater sense of pride in volunteers.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help the Donate Love Foundation introduce local youth to the value of volunteering through community-oriented service projects. If G-Team members raise $500, Donate Love will be able to procure all the games and household necessities for the youth service project at an assisted living facility.
