About El Hefe Tempe
El Hefe is definitely not your typical taco joint. Tortillas wrap around gourmet meats, such as braised beef cheeks and duck carnitas, and the rest of the menu features scratch-made options with delightfully unexpected ingredients: grilled shrimp tacos are sweetened with coconut slaw, and a ceviche tostada is layered with slices of asian pear.
The eatery also churns out satisfying tortas and creative brunch dishes, including breakfast burritos and churro toast glazed with a jalapeño-infused maple syrup. Guests can nosh on these eats and relax with a 20-ounce housemade bloody mary or personal mimosa with a split of champagne.
El Hefe's other liquid offerings include beer-garitas and nine specialty margaritas, such as the hermanos pistola with rock-candy syrup, fresh mint, and cucumber. There are also seven booths with personal table taps. The taps can be filled with beer or liquor—Pacifico, 312, and Cabo Wabo are a few of the options—and the booths are equipped with LCD screens that let guests and staff monitor how much has been consumed.
