El Luchador opened their doors in November 2014 after renovating a South street corner location that used to be a horse stable and adding a 1960's Airstream that they parked in the front as a dining cart. They renovated it, and equipped it with tables and chairs to serve as the perfect spot for a Mexican street food restaurant with a So-Cal flair to it. They take pride in making everything in-house and from scratch, from the slow-braised meats like carnitas and beef short-ribs, the marinated chicken or skirt steak in Adobo, to the homemade salsas, pickled vegetables and guacamole. Their menu is divided into three main sections: burritos, tacos and quesadillas which is sure to make for a tough decision. Make sure to try all three of their signature salsas to make the experience unique: the mildest chipotle-tomatillo salsa, the medium El Luchador salsa, and the fiery green cilantro-jalapeno salsa. Classic sides such as guacamole and chips, nachos and grilled Mexican corn are also available. Be sure to save room for dessert as they offer Cajeta flan and rice pudding.
