About Emerald City Trapeze Arts
Once upon a time, the Canal Boiler Works building in SODO housed Seattle's blacksmiths, who spent their days harnessing the power of fire and steel. Today, the building is still around, but its tenants tap into a different kind of power. Beneath a wood-beam ceiling, the aerialists of Emerald City Trapeze Arts fly through a 20,000 square foot studio, learning classic circus and trapeze skills from instructors with decades of experience. During aerial arts classes, students engage with silks, hoops, and ropes suspended in midair, mastering artful, fluid motions while simultaneously boosting their strength and coordination. Trapeze classes take things even higher; the studio's full-sized trapeze rig towers 30 feet in the air, recreating the thrills of big-top flips for beginners and seasoned aerialists alike. The space also invites students to try their hands at several other classic apparatus, including Trampoline and Cyr Wheel.
Although the air is their natural habitat, Emerald City Trapeze Arts' instructors teach earthbound classes, as well. Tumbling classes unlock youngsters' inner acrobats with cartwheels and somersaults, while pole fitness classes introduce the tricks and transitions needed to develop a full dance routine.
