Small, dated, and run down Great Wolf Lodge. Cockroaches on the balcony. Not a great hotel for a work conference. My husband and I visited GWL in Concord, NC for a work conference for him. We’ve heard great things about other GWL’s and were very disappointed by our visit to this one. Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Kids who were there with families always looked to be enjoying themselves. Cons: The facility feels small, dated, and run down. We had a balcony family suite. It was a nice size but I don’t believe the beds were queen size as advertised- they felt like double/standard size. There were big cockroaches on the balcony each night. Thank god we didn’t see any in the actual room. For a family suite at a waterpark, you’d think there would be more than one towel hook total in the entire space to hang towels. There was no where to even hang a hand towel in the bathroom. The room smelled musty/moldy and you could see dust on surfaces in our room. Even though we were there for a work conference, there were no great spaces in or out of the room to set up to work remotely. We understand it’s a kid-themed hotel, but if you offer conference space, there should be a business suite available where Kidz Bop isn’t blasting 24/7 or a space with a desk to work (the room did not have this). Unlike most hotels, there was no complimentary coffee (is this a form of torture for all of the overstimulated and exhausted adults visiting??) and good luck trying to get Dunkin in the resort in a timely manner. The food at the restaurants on site was overpriced and underwhelming. If you want to leave the resort at all, make sure your wristband is on your left arm. You need to scan it at the gate to get in and out of the parking lot so if it’s on your right wrist, you have to do gymnastics to put the car in park, scan your wristband, and hop back in the car before the gate comes back down. Overall, things could have been worse, but I feel awful for families who spend a crazy amount of money to visit this GWL. There are a bunch of other hotels in the area and I’d encourage anyone needing to stay in the Concord, NC area to look elsewhere.

Fees 2 weeks later Waited 3.5 hours after the 400 check in time for a room! Didn’t get into a room until 730 at night. We got a cabana for one day. The lady at the front desk booked it. We checked out next day and was told we had a balance due of 58.90 so we paid it. We had a lot of credit due to switching dates we were scheduled to go. Two weeks later I get a text message stating we still have a balance that needs to be paid. Called and spoke two 3 different incompetent people that could not tell me why we were told we only had a balance of 58.90 and two weeks later we now have a new balance of 150.00. Spoke to supervisor and she stated that the lady that booked the cabana never took our card but couldn’t give me reasons why it was never charged until 2 weeks later. The whole trip was problem after problem. Short staffed and incompetent workers.
