Family-Friendly Hotel near Orlando Theme Parks

An official Walt Disney World® Hotel located across the street from the Downtown Disney® Marketplace, the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort brims with little touches of magic. On Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings, you can dig into a breakfast buffet at the onsite Lakeview Restaurant while Goofy and Pluto mingle with diners and pose for photos. At day’s end, guests return to comfortable and spacious guest rooms, some of which have views of the theme park.

The onsite aquatic playground is the perfect place to spend a sunny day, as long as you don’t mind getting soaked. There’s a hot tub for adults. And the whole pool area overlooks a scenic lake. When you’ve had your kicks at the water park, dry off and hop aboard a shuttle to any of the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks to carry on the fun. Each park is only a short ride away.

Throughout the day, a director of fun organizes children’s activities, such as poolside bingo and crafts. You can stay active in the onsite fitness center, which features tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts. In addition to the Lakeview Restaurant, the hotel has two more eateries as well as two bars.

Orlando, Florida: World-Famous Theme Parks and Cultural Surprises

Located in the center of Florida, Orlando may be forever associated with the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks—the world’s most-visited entertainment resort. Spanning roughly 30,000 acres, it encompasses four theme parks, two water parks, five golf courses, and the Downtown Disney® Marketplace. There’s no shortage of things to do here: begin your day by boarding a rocket-shaped three-seater that climbs to 180 feet before entering a deep black tunnel and racing past stars, satellites, and constellations. Walk across the park to sample Moroccan cuisine for lunch, or ride a dune buggy through a haunted mansion. Before heading back to the hotel, take in the nightly fireworks, laser, and water show. One of the most popular family destinations in the world, sunny Orlando is also home to Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld, and Gatorland.

Those hoping to shake up the typical theme-park-dominated itinerary can head into downtown Orlando’s vibrant arts district. The neighborhood boasts venues such as CityArts Factory, a multifaceted patchwork of gallery spaces, and SAK Comedy Lab, which hosts family-friendly improv shows five nights a week.

About a 10-minute drive north, you’ll find eight cultural institutions at Loch Haven Park, including the Orlando Museum of Art, which houses work by Georgia O’Keeffe, Robert Rauschenberg, Ansel Adams, and Andy Warhol. The park is also home to the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orlando Science Center, where you can drive a rover across a simulation of Mars or race on a 70-foot pinewood derby track.

This was a great resort to stay in! Soon as you pull up there is someone to greet you and throughout the stay there was staff willing to help! The only thing I could say was the a/c unit was loud and the headboards to the beds looked a little worn out but everything else was great! Pool was awesome, two minute walk to Disney Springs and 20 min drive to City Walk. I will definitely come back again.

Wyndham A+ I have stayed at the property for business and pleasure and the property has delivered a consistently great experience. The is trip was for business conference I had some requirements that are not part of my usual stay as I had to setup an exhibitor booth, I had arrived early staff helped me get squared away for my setup which made things go super smooth. They are well staffed (check-in process was quick and efficient) super friendly. I do recommend you take advantage of the online pre-registration it definitely expedites the check-in process. The proximity to Disney Springs is a great bonus. The rooms are clean well maintained everything was in working order and have daily maid service which does not happen at all the Disney property hotels. The hotel should be on your list of properties on when visiting Disney or for business, I would recommend the property

Old and dated. I do not recommend. The only reason I am giving this “resort” a 2 is because it is very close to Disney Springs. We were given a room that was 65 degrees during one of the coldest nights in FL’s history. We called the front desk who sent maintenance to fix the heat. We gave it a couple of hrs and it was still 65. Maintenance came again. The heat finally came on but made a horrible noise. We finally had to insist that they move us to another room which required us to repack and move all of our belongings. The hotel is very old and dated. For the price plus what you pay to park daily, you can do better elsewhere!

Overrated and overpriced For the price of the room, plus resort fee and parking… this is not it! The bathrooms are so small and if they’re charging what they do, they need to update the bathrooms and the guest rooms! There were stains on the bedding and towels as well, so gross!
