The unit I received was defective. I missed my refund period (14 days set by group on ) because I did not use the unit immediately. When I found out it was bad on my first try, I contacted warranty provider who insisted to mail in (no drop off allowed what so ever), which cost around $100. Mailing in was $100 more to my expense without guarantee to fix the unit. So I wasted $200 without being able to enjoy it once. Bad product and Bad service.
It's not very portable as it's pretty heavy and has to be near an open window. It's also pretty loud and the instructions clearly weren't originally written in English. Most of the buttons on the remote are intuitive though, except the giant thumbs up button. That apparently means "super cool." It also will only cool down to 64 degrees but if that's enough for you then it does so pretty well.
I was excited to receive my ac unit until I opened it up and it looked used; of which I have taken pictures of! I am so disappointed right now. I would not have ordered a refurbished product! I am in the process of getting a response from the Shinco company. Signed Bummed
I received this unit on 09/22/2015. The fan inside the unit does not work. Additionally, my room is approximately 120 sqft and it did not decrease the temperature at all, probably because the fan component of the machine does not work. It seems that QC has failed. I would not recommend this unit.
This works fantastic but is very loud. I love that my bedroom is coooooool in this hot weather and that the electric bill will be much less! The only negative is the loudness of the fan and the noise as it cycles.
