At one point, Leticia Diaz baked only for her coworkers and friends. But in between bites of her decadent treats, they always asked her why she didn't open a bakery. After a while, she took their advice and opened GIGGLES Cupcakes. There, she and co-owner Nicholas Wade serve up cupcakes that come drizzled with boozy frosting or filled with buttercream, candy, or marshmallow fluff. Creative cakes include lemon basil, which comes garnished with a sugared basil leaf. Diaz and Wade use organic, local ingredients whenever possible, and they offer gluten-free and vegan options for those whose sweet teeth are also lactose intolerant.
