A Bronx Tale One Man Show

Palminteri, well known for A BRONX TALE, developed the screenplay for the stage and performed it as a one-man show in Los Angeles. Since ROCKY, it has been Hollywood's hottest property. Mr. Palminteri was given over a million dollars to leave the project, but he declined with only $200.00 in his bank account. He desired to play Sonny as well as write the screenplay. One night, Robert DeNiro went into the theatre to witness the performance, and as they say, "The rest is history." He subsequently brought the show to New York, where it performed for four sold-out months and won him nominations for both acting and writing from the New York Outer Critics Circle. He finished the script for A BRONX STORY while in New York.
